          As teachers, researchers, and librarians, UMFA members take pride in our work. We are committed to excellence and providing the best possible post-secondary experience to our students. The work we do makes UofM happen.

          The Association negotiates and protects a strong Collective Agreement and works towards fair employment conditions and high quality post-secondary education at the University of Manitoba.

          Bargaining on behalf of approximately 1,200 full-time academic staff at the UofM, UMFA is dedicated to advocating for Member’s rights and pushing for better working conditions and a better university experience for all students and staff.

           

          You Make UofM Happen

          With our Collective Agreement (CA) currently in place for the next three years, UMFA members will continue to make their concerns and issues heard by the Administration and to support each other as we facilitate grievances and challenge the Administration on issues that affect us, our students, and our fellow workers at the UofM.

          • Get involved: contact the UMFA office about volunteer opportunities.

          • Spread the word: talk to colleagues about UMFA and how they can get involved.

          • Attend UMFA events: Special General Meetings and local constituency meetings happen regularly.

          • Show your support: wear “I Support UMFA” stickers and buttons, and use UMFA online meeting backgrounds during your meetings and lectures. Send an email to umfa-communications@ to get yours.

          • Stay social: share social media content to help spread the word.
